Amanda, Independent Travel Counsellor Inspires with her Travel Journey.
BRBN encourage members to have 1-2-1’s, to get to know each other so they can refer with confidence, separate to the 1-2-1’s members have the opportunity to deliver a 10-minute presentation. Amanda’s presentations always lift the room, her knowledge is second to none, her story is inspirational.
Amanda delivered on how travel had been a big part of her life, Amanda mentioned how her first flight was at 3 months old when she set off to go back “home” to Kenya, life for her started in Nairobi which was such an amazing opportunity for which she will always be grateful. Amanda said “There is something really special about Southern & East Africa that is hard to put in to words however I have had incredible experiences in many other countries too”.
From leaving university embarked on a travel career with Thomas Cook, at the time was the greatest name in travel. Amanda worked her way through the various roles and became branch manager of the Thomas Cook Beverley store. An incredible company with the best training and at the time an incredible product range too.
Taking a leap of faith which was a huge move meant that she would be able to build her own franchise business from scratch. From day one her business has gone from strength to strength.
Amanda said, “I absolutely love that I am completely independent and have so much more choice in terms of independent niche suppliers that I can offer to my clients. I can build bespoke tailor made itineraries around the globe adding in authentic experiences. I am now in my 13th year as an independent Travel Counsellor a brand that offers full financial protection and honest professional advice on your holiday plans and a 24/7 duty office support system to be there for you when occasionally issues arise”.
Amanda continued, “My business has grown through my clients' loyalty and their recommendations to others. BRBN has for many years supported me in developing my business and referring me to others. The biggest advantage is perhaps the personal connection with customers and the satisfaction of creating memorable holidays.
Following the inspired 10 minute slot, BRBN members delivered on their 60 seconds, “member elevator pitch”, kept to the timings, which allowed Fran to deliver an appropriate Ed Slot - “Managing Change”. As we move into Autumn, prepare for changes in our private and working life, Fran spoke about how to cope with changes, whether that be in business or welcoming new BRBN members to the group - adding to changing dynamics. A very Insightful Education Slot.
After an excellent breakfast, the passing of referrals, testimonials and 1-2-1’s, BRBN members embarked on another exciting week in business.
