Passion and commitment really do make a difference.
The start of a new month at BRBN has bought a new host. Andy Bissett, has now taken the hot seat to preside over meetings and keep members to time. Andy certainly proved himself in his first meeting as chair and will do an excellent job over the course of the month.
The education slot this week was very poignant. Twelve months ago, we hadn’t heard of Capt. Sir Tom Moore, the World War II veteran who shot to fame whilst raising money for the NHS. His efforts united our nation against the threat of Covid-19 and provided a light in challenging times. Sadly, Capt. Sir Tom recently passed away from Covid-19, but he’s left behind a legacy that will be remembered for a long time to come.
Captain Tom wanted to help, and he did just that, raising a total of nearly £40m. His actions were inspirational, they demonstrated “strength, commitment, passion and heart” and made a huge difference.
These qualities can be brought to any endeavour. Just think what you could achieve with the right mindset.
The presentation this week was given by Tony Hammond of Hammond Financial. Tony gave the group a better appreciation of the impact of a sudden loss of income through ill health or other unforeseen circumstance. Losing an income isn’t something anyone expects to happen, but which easily can.
Having the right advice at the right time is invaluable. Networking allows that.
