Why it pays to use experienced, knowledgeable professionals…
This week, the ‘good news award’ goes to Home Instead. Franchise manager, Mandy Aitken, was proud to announce three really positive pieces of news. Firstly, care staff on her team have now received their first Covid-19 vaccines, secondly Mandy herself has now qualified as a Mental Health First Aider and thirdly the Beverley franchise has recently received a 5* Employer Award through WorkBuzz. Congratulations Mandy!
One of the main messages of this week’s meeting, as pointed out by one of our members was, quote, “only use people that know what they’re doing.” Short and succinct indeed. Many micro-, small and medium sized businesses are highly specialised — and qualified — in the job they do. Outsourcing work to them or engaging them in work means you get an exceptional level of service. A little more money often goes a long way. Better that than paying less for a bad service you have to rectify later! It's better to pay once.
Networking is important, and to reiterate the above, it pays. It’s all about forming and maintaining relationships, and engaging in mutual support by referrals. Listening is key. The group grounded this knowledge in reality with some interesting and insightful 1-2-1’s during the meeting.
