Words of wisdom in every-day discussion at BRBN

Today’s upbeat meeting was full of small snippets of good advice and lessons learnt for all around the (virtual) table. One such was from Dave Tunstall of East Riding Wills, who emphasised the need for communication and new conversation around what is normally considered a ‘taboo’ subject; making a Will.

We also heard about a referral that was eight years in the making! Building trust with clientele can clearly produce some longstanding effects!

Much good news was forthcoming from Tiger Inn landlord Allen Slinger too. Although clearly too soon to talk about opening dates, some developments are underway as all at The Tiger get ready for the post-Covid pub scene…

Even though every day’s a school day, from time to time we need reminding. Today it was the turn of the age old saying: “don’t assume. It makes an ass of you and me.” It’s right; we’ve all been there, and the message couldn’t be clearer.

In the spotlight this week was Josh Richardson from Informed Financial Planning. Josh gave the group an insightful walk through the general process that a client new to IFP would experience. With an extremely thorough and high-level of service, IFP work together with their clients to create a unique “map” for the future which matches the client’s ethical standing (where do you stand on fossil fuels and animal testing?), “attitude to risk” and long term life and financial goals.

What’s your plan for the future?
