Positive times ahead.

Continuing with our new chair, John Olivant, this week’s meeting got off to a positive start. All members are looking forward to restrictions lifting, and perhaps none more so than pub landlord Allen Slinger of The Tiger Inn, Beverley.

Although subject to change, Allen has a plan of action in place for reopening The Tiger in accordance with government guidelines. Offering a take away service every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from Good Friday, and open for business (outside seating only) from 16th April, Allen has his work cut out. But he’s excited by the prospect of serving customers once again, as much as many others are excited at being served!

Businesses within BRBN, including those set up during this terrible pandemic, are going from strength to strength, and the education slot this week reminded us how this is possible. Approaching any situation in a positive way and using the resources you have available to you, whatever they are, means that you can always move forward, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time.

In fact, one particular member is taking this attitude to the next level. Having spent next to no time on a bike for a number of months now, he’s decided to cycle 300 miles between 31st March and 30th April in order to raise money for Dementia Friends. Adding a few more miles day by day means they all add up!

We look forward to supporting the BRBN on the challenge.
