BRBN Learns there’s Power in Positivity
26/04/2021

This week’s meeting was full of good news. From businesses renewing important contracts and becoming involved in new ventures for good causes to the encouraging signs of open hospitality venues, like the Tiger Inn, business is going well.
The group received an update on the charity cycle ride undertaken by Julian Minshall. At the time of the meeting, Julian had clocked over 343 miles, passing his initial target of 300 miles by far. Julian is now aiming for 500 miles by the end of April. The money raised - over £1000 at the time of writing - will be donated to Dementia Friendly East Riding.
Speaking about his challenge and what has kept him going, Julian cited the support and advice received from friends, colleagues and well-wishers. The comments left on his fundraising page have inspired him to continue. Indeed, this inspiration tied into the education slot; networking and taking great advice from experienced individuals can pay dividends in business too!
Travel advisor Amanda McConnell gave a very insightful presentation into how she, both as an individual and as part of the larger Travel Counsellors company, has thrived during the pandemic when times have been especially tough for the travel Industry. Treating customers fairly, being caring and trustworthy, remaining positive and regarding everything as temporary are just a few of the ways Amanda mentioned.
