DFER Cycle challenge a success
03/05/2021

Fantastic news from Julian Minshall, he has completed his Cycle for Dementia Friendly East Riding (DFER) Challenge.
When he started the challenge, he did not know what lay ahead of him. Having only cycled 60 miles this year, it was a case of lets see what happens. One month later and he has beaten his target of 300 miles, raised more than his target of £1,500 and reaching a total of 543 miles. .
To reach his mile target he had to keep going through all weathers, even hailstone! Trying to find the motivation on all the cold evenings has been a challenge in itself, and Julian is adamant reaching 500 miles would not have been achievable without the support of everyone behind him.
Inspiration came from a glance down the donations page and comments to see how the Beverley community has rallied to support Julian, which gave him the extra motivation to dig deeper and cycle those extra miles.
Thank you to everyone who has been behind Julian throughout this challenge, and thank you to anyone who has donated so far. If you haven't donated yet, there's still time! Donate here.
