Nine months after starting up, business continues to grow for copywriter Lara Blythe who writes under the business name Flourishink.

Where did the name Flourishink come from? A play on words, the fusion of flourishing (as in blossoming) and ink (representing the written word) conveys an image of thriving business and quality writing; blooming, you might say. Well, that’s the idea, anyway!

Since its inception, Lara has written for various sectors and businesses, including web design, GDPR, hypnotherapy and commercial finance brokerage, to increase her portfolio. Content types have mainly included website copy and blogs. But, she has also written for magazine articles, LinkedIn articles, and case studies.

So, what’s been the most enjoyable part of the journey? Before writing comes research, understanding the topic you’re going to write about. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn about other industries and get to grips with a variety of topics. Of course, the writing stage is very rewarding too, and when the words don’t flow freely, a walk and some inspirational scenery often help!

Beyond that, building a network of fellow business owners has been crucial, meeting like-minded individuals who support each other as they experience similar challenges.

Have there been any challenging aspects? Of course! Working from home means there are many distractions, which isn’t always easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it in the end. When we meet our challenges, we grow!

Already, Lara has received some excellent feedback from clients and is very happy with progress so far. And the future? Continue to grow as a business owner and provide a quality service for all her customers.
