BRBN enjoy in person network meeting.

Recent government restrictions have rendered BRBN unable to host any in-person meetings for over 15 months! This week that all changed as the group finally held its first ‘physical’ meeting in a long, long time. Although members have taken virtual meetings in their stride, the buoyant atmosphere and abundant laughter demonstrated nothing can replace face to face interaction.

Networking builds on the principles of Know, Like and Trust. This week, our education coach explained how our actions can influence what others think of us, both as individuals and professionals.

Several incidents this week, one in the offices of government and one in the sporting world, have highlighted how an individual’s behaviour can have a massive impact on those around them. And sadly, not all for the better.
Take the unfortunate individual who caused the Peloton collision in the Tour De France. In terms of  Know, Like and Trust, what would your reaction be? And the former Health Secretary. After recent events, know, like and trust, do you still hold him in high regard? Your actions can impact on your credibility.

We can all think of people that we have perhaps warmed to less because of their actions. We all make mistakes, but actions have consequences, and some are more severe than others!

Allen Slinger, landlord of The Tiger Inn, fittingly gave the feature presentation this week. Although many people know the Tiger Inn well, few know Allen as an individual. Members learnt about his passion for sport, his career history, and his exceptional work ethic. Allen clearly enjoys what he does and kindly shared some of his future plans for The Tiger.
