BRBN embraces the excellent weather and meets outdoors!
28/07/2021

'Al Fresco,’ that was how Fran Dunning, chair of BRBN meetings for July, described this week’s gathering. It’s only the second in-person meeting BRBN members have held in 16 months since the onset of Covid, and it seems many made up for lost time.
Members sat under cover in the new outdoor area behind the Tiger Inn and enjoyed a delicious breakfast and lots of positive vibes during the group’s first meeting since ‘Freedom Day’. Many in the group imparted some excellent business developments, either from their sector, their own business or both!
Amanda McConnell gave a reflective presentation to the group centred on her work as a Travel Counsellor during the pandemic. Travel Counsellors have their own ATOL licence, which means they can act as travel agents and travel operators. They can build their own travel packages too. Customers come first: travel Counsellors treat their clients with exceptionally high moral and ethical standards. Amanda spent much of last year amending, rebooking or refunding holidays due to the pandemic. Even now, with constantly changing government travel guidelines, looking after her clients is still a 24/7 job.
This week’s education slot was a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together. You never know when speaking highly of an individual you genuinely respect what information will be remembered by the person you are talking to. Effective referrals don’t happen overnight. You need to be in the right place at the right time, you need to trust the person you are referring, and you need to be subtle.
And lastly, never say never! This week, two group members announced the start of a collaboration involving a third party that they never thought possible! Well done for thinking big!
