What can inspirational athletes show business owners?

As Dave Tunstall takes the position of chair for August, Beverley Referral Business Network continues the mixture of online and in-person meetings. At this week’s online session, Dave did an excellent job of keeping it running smoothly and to time. 

Wherever networking meetings take place, it is being there that counts. One of our members gave an excellent example of being in the right place at the right time. They provided sound advice and then reaped the rewards of new business later down the line.

The Olympics were the inspiration behind the education slot this week. Using inspirational individuals, like athletes, we can maintain our own confidence and motivation, which help us to succeed in business. Even if things haven’t gone to plan - just like they don’t when you’re competing for Gold - don’t give up; there’s always a chance to have another go!

Rather than a presentation this week, members enjoyed a 10 minute 1-2-1 with a fellow business owner - all randomised courtesy of the online video call system. Although only short, 1-2-1 sessions are always popular and receive a very positive response. It’s an excellent opportunity to chat informally with other members about business and get to know them better, making referrals easier and more likely.
