Business growth by design or by accident?

The Beverley Referral Business Network met in person this week. The meeting began with a warm-up with members sharing good news, which this week included some fantastic sporting achievements.

As each member gave their networking pitch, the group learned more about individual businesses, the services on offer, and how their owners help and support their clients. Each week, members find out more about the intricacies of each business and sector represented in the group. “You don’t know what you don’t know,” as they say, but it’s never a bad thing to find out more and expand our knowledge and understanding.

The end of the calendar year is when we often reflect on the past 12 months and think about the year to come. The education slot focussed on just that. If you are taking time to reflect, make sure you give yourself (as well as your colleagues and employees, if you have them) a pat on the back for what you have achieved, rather than giving yourself or others a hard time for not doing more.

This time of year is also an ideal time to think about your business goals and strategy for 2022. What is your aim for the coming 12 months? Why do you want to achieve it? And what benefits will it bring? Build business growth into your plan, rather than trusting to chance that it will happen.

The business in focus this week was Just Beverley. This free-to-pick-up monthly magazine is always full of good news, interesting articles, and updates about what’s happening in our beautiful town. Delivered by Julian Minshall, the presentation covered many aspects of the magazine, including the readership, which is large and crosses national boundaries! Just Beverley contains something for everyone, and even though there have been tough times through Covid, the publication is still going strong. And look out for some changes coming in 2022!

During his presentation, Julian also spoke about one of his passions, art and painting, and showed members some of his fabulous works. Part of his life since being a teenager, Julian is now using his artistic skills to showcase the town of Beverley even more through Just Beverley magazine.
