BRBN It's all about the feet

BRBN Josie (6)

At BRBN we are privileged to be surrounded by many professional people who are at the top of their game. This week, we were educated on the importance of keeping our feet healthy and firmly on the ground.

Following the usual welcome, networking and good news, BRBN members enjoyed an educational 10 minute slot from Josie Flockton, Podiatrist.

Josie a professional podiatrist specialises in diagnosing and treating feet. Her expertise ranges from managing common foot issues like bunions, plantar fasciitis, and ingrown toenails to addressing more complex problems in patients.

Josie spoke about her work with Carecent in York. Carecent is a breakfast centre for all homeless, unemployed or otherwise socially excluded members of the community.

Josie mentioned how as a volunteer she is always ready to listen and offer support and advice where possible. How giving up some of her time to help underprivileged people can make a massive difference in our community and help people towards a new life. In Josie's situation, help with peoples feet and making them feel better in themselves.

Josie commented, " When working with underprivileged communities, we (podiatrists) often encounter untreated conditions due to lack of access to healthcare. We provide essential care to prevent further complications, such as infections or mobility issues, which can impact quality of life".

Following a great breakfast served up by the staff at The Ferguson Fawsitt, an education spot on the power of change, embracing change and how small changes can have a BIG impact on businesses for better or worse! BRBN members finished off the meeting with the usual round of Testimonials and new business contacts.

Next meeting is a virtual meeting followed by an open morning meeting on Thursday 17th October.
