Siobhan Clarke Clarke HR Consulting took the 10 minute slot for the final presentation of 2025, to guide members and their businesses through the minefield of "Christmas Parties"!!

Networking is one of the most powerful tools for personal and professional growth. At its core, networking is about building genuine, mutually beneficial relationships that create opportunities, share knowledge, and strengthen community. Effective networking doesn’t require aggressive self-promotion; instead, it relies on authentic conversation, active listening, and being curious about the experiences of others.

The 10-Minute Presentation delivered by Siobhan went over her business and the Christmas Party Pitfalls!!

Christmas parties boost morale, celebrate success, and build connection. But they also introduce risks for employers behaviour, safety, and reputation.

Points to remember

Company events = work environment!

Conduct still reflects workplace standards, liability may extend beyond office walls and excess drinking can be linked to misconduct, so encourage responsible drinking, with managers setting an example of appropriate behaviour.

Not everyone celebrates Christmas, be mindful of religious and cultural differences, ensure events are accessible to all

Christmas parties can be safe, fun, inclusive, with the right preparation and Clarke HR on hand, they can help reduce risks and boost morale within the business environment - Christmas Parties can be fun.

As usual Maddie stepped up with the annual Christmas Quiz, getting people into the festive mood.

A Christmas quiz is more than a festive game, it’s a team-building powerhouse. Quizzes break down barriers, encourage participation across roles and departments, and create shared moments of laughter and connection. Delighted winners Chris, Ed and Siobhan took home the prizes.

To finish the year off on a high, Maddie who tirelessly supports Oakland Dog Rescue in a volunteer role was presented with a cheque for the Charity.

BRBN wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
